Found A Wasp Nest?
Firstly, try not to panic! Leave the wasps and the nest alone. If possible, ensure that you don't go anywhere near the nest - it is vital to keep children, the vulnerable and pets away entirely. Keep any windows near the nest closed. Do not attempt to remove the nest or block up any access holes the wasps are using - the access hole is very important for the effective delivery of insecticide. Wasp Facts
Common wasps are a social species of insect, living in large colonies (nests). They make their nests from chewed-up wood. Each nest has a queen that produces workers (female wasps) and drones (male wasps). Usually, wasps build their nests in remote locations far from inhabited areas. Unfortunately, they occasionally build in wall cavities, roof spaces and other public locations. In these instances, they pose a real threat to human safety. This is because wasps can become highly aggressive, attacking humans or animals that disturb them or get too close. Their sting contains a venom that can cause a serious allergic reaction called anaphylaxis - this can lead to swelling of the airways and asphyxiation (oxygen deprivation). For this reason, it is highly recommended that you call us, as we are professionally trained in wasp extermination and wasp nest removal.
